NEW ALBANY, Ohio, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: CVGI) announced its participation in a two day experiential learning event with high school students from six area school districts in connection with the Columbus Council on World Affairs' Global Scholars Diploma program.
Two hundred students recently visited the CVG world headquarters and Research & Development facility in New Albany, Ohio as part of their Global Scholars curriculum which is designed to foster innovative and interactive partnerships with the global community. The students participated in a lean manufacturing simulation, an interactive tour of the Research & Development facility and a panel discussion with CVG leaders of diverse backgrounds.
According to Patrick Terrien, President and CEO of the Columbus Council on World Affairs, "The purpose and mission that drives the CCWA is educating and preparing young people to gain new perspectives and be prepared for the global society they face beyond their high school walls. It is with partners like CVG that we're able to accomplish the incredible experiential learning opportunities for these students to speak with and interact with real people working in global careers."
Participating students represented six area high school districts including the Global Impact STEM Academy, Marysville High School, Olentangy Local High School District, Reynoldsburg eSTEM Academy, Granville High School and Worthington City Schools.
